Watch Transit of Venus Live

Haven’t picked up your Baader Solar Film yet?

Well NASA has you cov­ered.
Just log to their live web­cast of the Tran­sit of Venus.

Safer, more com­fort­able & more infor­ma­tive than watch­ing your­self.
Lis­ten to the NASA team as the describe the his­tory and impor­tance of this event.

The images are com­ing live from the NASA IRTF tele­scope high atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii.  
Also fun: see­ing guys shiv­er­ing in heavy parkas…in Hawaii!  
The tele­scope is at 14,000 feet.

Note: *exposed black & white* film I’m told is NOT A GOOD OPTION to fil­ter the sun dur­ing Tran­sit of Venus.  Given that Venus will cover ALMOST NONE of the disk of the sun, any viewer, tele­scope or cam­era will be look­ing at the full power of the sun.  So be sure to only use view­ers specif­i­cally designed for watch­ing the sun.

    Josh, What you have made avail­able to me is remark­able. I have not viewed any VHS in 15 years. A large per­cent­age of the loved ones & friends in my tapes are gone.
